Passions

This afternoon I interviewed for a circulation assistant position at the Landsdowne Public Library. I really loved it there. They are well used by the community, really reach out to the community, and are considered an integral part of the community. Patrons really like coming there and they have an amazingly high circulation rate and well-attended programs. It would be a dream library assignment for me. I love interacting with people, getting to know people, and learning about libraries and communities at the same time.

It reminded me a bit of why I want to go into libraries. I want to interact with people and help them find new books or information. I want to do the community aspect program where you work with various community-based organizations to help make things better. I want to be right there.
